Science is still trying to puzzle out whether or not early onset obesity has a direct relationship with early onset puberty. Of course, there is a fair amount of common sense involved in looking at what we know already. For example, we know that kids who are obese and overweight grow faster and enter puberty earlier. It is still a situation, however, in which causality needs to be more definitely defined. Obviously this is not a serious threat to a child’s health or super impacting of other obesity related problems but there are definitely some implications that will go along with the abnormally early onset of puberty.
